What’s Injected

Risks:

  • Infection: Needle trauma may cause infections or trigger cold sores in the lip area.
  • Trauma: Bruising, bleeding, or haematomas may occur. Rare structural damage could persist.
  • Reactions: Immediate swelling is common, with rare anaphylaxis. Delayed nodules may form and require treatment.

Aftercare:

  • Immediate Care (First 24–48 Hours): Avoid touching or massaging treated areas to prevent product spread. Apply cold compresses to reduce swelling. Skip makeup for 12 hours.
  • Activity Restrictions: Avoid strenuous exercise, heat exposure, or alcohol for 48 hours. Refrain from facial treatments for 2 weeks.
  • Skincare: Use gentle cleansers and moisturisers. Avoid exfoliants or acids for 7 days. Apply SPF 50+ daily.
  • Monitoring: Expect small, temporary bumps at injection sites, resolving within 24–48 hours. Contact our Neutral Bay clinic if persistent lumps, severe pain, or blanching occurs. Results appear over 4–8 weeks.
